Confession is the 8th chapter of Taamo's Taiyou no Ie.
Summary[]
Mao is shocked that Radical likes Hiro too, and Radical talks about how she had always been in an all-girls school. When Radical was younger, she never thought about dating, but Hiro is the first guy Radical loves since elementary school.
Mao leaves her apartment. Mao is worried that Hiro also likes Radical, so she tries to get information out of Hiro about Radical(Sugimoto) during dinner but it becomes an awkward situation. In order to find more information if Hiro likes someone, Mao sneaks into the bathroom to look at Hiro's cellphone while Hiro was taking a shower. However, at that time, he comes out of the shower and Mao leaves in embarassment. While looking for Hiro , she finds him sleeping on the floor. Mao spots his phone in his pocket and decides to snatch it away from him, but it was a trap and Hiro corners Mao questioning why she was trying to snatch his phone. She explains that she wanted to know if he liked anybody from work, so he tosses Mao his cellphone for her to look. Mao can't bring herself to look at his phone.
Mao is now at school, and Oda guesses right away why Mao is in a bad mood; because the person her friend likes turns out to be the same person she likes, like in a shoujo manga his sister reads. Then Mao suddenly asks why Oda always talks to her, and Oda confesses, "that's cause I like you". Anyways, Oda misunderstands what Mao said (about two friends liking the same person) and thinks that both Chi and Mao like the same person. He tries to reassure confused Chi-chan, Mao's only other friend, if she was worried because Mao and her are going for the same guy.
Mao comes back home, and is greeted by a new family member, a dog Hiro got. Hiro names the dog Croquette , the name of the dog in Mao's novel .
